Plastic Molding
Lyetek supplies custom plastic injection molding for OEMs — precision structural parts, cosmetic enclosures, insert-molded metal-and-plastic assemblies and two-shot components. Tooling is engineered and built in our mold shop in Guangdong, China, then run on 75–850 ton machines, finished, inspected and packed to your drawing. One partner from DFM review to packed carton.
No obligation. NDA on request. Your files stay private.

Why buyers work with us
- Mold design, tooling, molding, finishing and assembly handled by one team — no handoff losses between suppliers
- Tooling team with 20+ years in precision mold making and injection molding
- ISO 9001 certified quality system, with dimensional reports on request
- In-house mold shop: CNC, EDM, wire-cut, milling and surface grinding
- 15 injection presses from 75 to 850 tons, from small technical parts to larger housings
- Moldflow analysis done before steel is cut — wall thickness, cooling layout, gate position and warp are settled on screen, not on the press
What we mold
| Part type | Typical application |
|---|---|
| Precision structural parts | Internal frames, brackets, carriers, housings with tight flatness and parallelism |
| Cosmetic & appearance parts | High-gloss, textured, soft-touch and colour-matched visible parts |
| Insert-molded metal + plastic | Metal pins, terminals and inserts over-molded in one operation |
| Two-shot & hard-soft over-molding | Hard shell with soft-grip TPE/TPU, multi-colour parts |
| Rotary core-pull (unscrewing) parts | Threaded or internally undercut parts molded without manual handling |
| Large parts | Single-piece parts up to roughly 500 × 600 mm |
| Medical & diagnostic devices | Housings and internal components with documented process control |

Mold shop & equipment
| Equipment | Capacity |
|---|---|
| CNC machining centres | 7 units |
| EDM machines | 7 units |
| Wire-cut EDM | 11 units |
| Surface grinders | 4 units |
| Milling machines | 4 units |
Software: UG NX 10.0 for mold design, Autodesk Moldflow for flow, cooling, pressure and warp analysis, PowerMILL for CAM. Mould and part design are reviewed against QCD targets before cutting starts.

Injection molding
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Clamping force | 75 – 850 tons |
| Machines | 15 injection moulding machines, 75 – 850 tons |
| Materials | PP, ABS, PC, PC/ABS, PA6/PA66 (+GF), PBT, POM, PMMA, TPE/TPU, food-contact and medical grades |
| Inserts & over-molding | Metal insert loading, hard-soft two-material molding |
| Two-shot molding | Multi-colour and hard-soft parts in one cycle |
| Special processes | Rotary core pull, in-mold gate cutting, beryllium-copper inserts and conformal cooling where it shortens the cycle |

Quality & inspection
| Instrument | Used for |
|---|---|
| CMM (coordinate measuring machine) | Full-dimension layout and critical dimensions |
| 2.5D / optical projector | Profiles, edges and small features |
| Height gauges and gauge blocks | Datum and step measurement |
| Pin gauges, hardness tester | Hole sizes, material verification |
| Micrometers, colour meter | Thickness checks and colour matching to your master sample |
In-process inspection runs through every shift, with final inspection before packing. Dimensional reports, sample retention and process documentation are available for your quality file.
What we have held in production
| Requirement | Achieved |
|---|---|
| Parallelism on precision parts | 0.02 mm |
| Insert-molded metal-and-plastic parts (multi-cavity) | 0.01 mm |
| Multi-cavity wearable structures | 0.01 mm |
| Parting-line flash on visible parts | under 0.02 mm |
| Molding cycle optimisation | approx. 20% shorter cycle via conformal cooling and beryllium-copper inserts on heavy sections |
How a project runs
- 1. Send your drawing — 3D file (STEP/IGES) plus 2D drawing, material, surface finish, colour and annual volume.
- 2. DFM review & quotation — feasibility, material selection, moldflow findings, tooling price and piece price, quoted separately.
- 3. Mold design & build — design freeze, then steel, machining and assembly.
- 4. T1 samples — samples with a dimensional report and appearance check for your sign-off.
- 5. Mass production — documented process control, inspection and packing to your requirement.
- 6. Delivery — your forwarder or ours; export packing and shipping documents handled.

Working under NDA
Most of the parts we mould belong to our customers’ live programmes, so they are not shown here. We sign an NDA before drawings are shared, and we do not publish customer parts, brands or project details. Sample parts and process photos can be shared privately under NDA.
Frequently asked questions
What do you need to quote a part?
A 3D file (STEP or IGES), a 2D drawing with tolerances, the material and surface finish, the colour standard and your estimated annual volume. If you only have a sample or a concept, send that — we will tell you what else is needed.
What is the minimum order quantity?
Tooling projects usually start with a trial order, then move to production volumes. MOQ is confirmed with the quotation, based on part size, cavity count and material.
How long does tooling take?
It depends mainly on part complexity, cavity count and tool size. We confirm the schedule with the quotation and keep you updated at each milestone — design freeze, steel, machining, T1.
Can you handle insert molding, two-shot and hard-soft parts?
Yes. Insert loading, two-colour molding, hard-soft over-molding and rotary core pull are all in regular production here.
Do you support assembly and packing?
Yes — sub-assembly, ultrasonic welding, printing, and retail-ready or export packing.
Send your drawing
We return a DFM review with the tooling quotation, so you can see what we would change before you commit to steel. Request a quote or email sales@lyetek.com.
